Elijah Can't Die film production

  Elijah Can’t Die:

On 14/05/2021, Stephen Allenden, Amy Caldecott and I attended college to work on a film called Elijah Can’t Die. Together, we needed to turn the actor into a 60 year old man. To do this accurately, Amy gathered some reference images to use.

Since we were only working on one person, Amy had set up the base with all the materials needed for the hair and makeup.

To begin with, Amy asked the actor if he was okay with liquid latex being used. Once we got confirmation, I began working on the ageing makeup. I did this by gently pulling the skin in the direction that wrinkles form and applying latex in small amounts and thin layers to build up the wrinkled effect. While I did this, Amy used small amounts of clown white body paint to colour the hair grey. Once I had finished applying the latex, Amy applied some powder and foundation to prevent the skin from looking pale on camera.

For this production, we practiced good health and safety precautions by keeping the base clean and organised at all times. When using the hair dryer, I made sure there was space to place it down when needed and the wires were out of the way. Any and all bags were also kept out of the way. We also wore masks when working on the actor.
