During this meeting, we discussed what we needed to complete over the next day or so to prepare for
the show. Paige and I collaborated together to create a list of tasks that needed to be completed over
the next week. This included: discussing / gathering ideas for Audrey Two’s hair. We did this by
gathering images to assemble into a moodboard of our ideas. We also needed to complete the final
face chart design. It was important to get this finished and into the folder as soon as possible as we will
need it on the night of the performance to see what products we need and the makeup design. We also
needed to complete the final design for the makeup to go into the production folder. Then, we needed
to ask the director about the changes for Audrey Two during the interval. We did this by creating a
moodboard of all of our ideas categorised into sections to better explain our ideas. Then, once we had
attended rehearsals, we needed to do a patch test for the eyelash glue on the actress. This is important
to do as, since we will be including false eyelashes into the makeup, we needed to make sure the
eyelash glue was compatible with her skin, as if it wasn’t we would need to get eyelash glue that doesn’t
contain latex. Then, we needed to ask the director about our idea for sleeves rather than painting the
arms green (for context, Tom (the director) planned for Audrey Two to have her arms painted green to
match her costume, however, Paige had deduced that using green body paint wouldn’t work for the
show as it would just smudge onto both the actors costume, and anything they touch throughout the
show. Therefore, we came up with the idea to use shoulder length gloves instead).
Once we had created the list, we went on to work through it bit by bit to make sure we didn’t miss
anything, beginning with discussing the changes. We came up with the idea of using red face and
body glitter on the lips, adding a few rhinestones onto the face and maybe adding in some fake blood.
This is to show character development during the show as Audrey Two gets bigger and bigger, the
character becomes more ‘evil’. Therefore, we had decided to use the interval as an opportunity to show
this character development through looks. Whilst planning this, we had to keep in mind that we only
had 15 minutes during the interval to apply these changes.
We then decided to gather images for a moodboard of our ideas and to gather ideas for Audrey Two’s
hairstyle. Once we had gathered and arranged these images onto the moodboard, we went to see the
rehearsal for Act 2 of the show.
Once the performance was over, Paige and I took this opportunity to do a patch test of the eyelash glue,
placing a small amount on her arm and leaving it there for 5 minutes to see if she had any sort of
reaction, to which she did not. Whilst waiting for the glue to dry, we decided to discuss the changes with
her and the director using the moodboard.
The images above show the completed moodboard Paige and I presented to the director and the
actress. We had decided not to use the gloves and to just blend the foundation across her arms. This
may affect budgeting as we may need some more foundation to be able to make this happen. We had
also decided to just stick to using the glitter and rhinestones once again as the fake blood may ruin the
appearance of her makeup under the stage lights.
