Festival Of Thrift days 1&2:
Festival Of Thrift day 1:
25/09/2021
The festival took place at Kirkleatham. The festival itself began at 10:30am, however, the fashion show would not begin until 2:30pm. We had all decided prior to the day of the festival that we should all try to get there around 11am to give us enough time to get all the models' makeup done.
I arrived at around 10:45 to meet up with Paige so that she could show me to the tent we will all be working in. This ended up being a small, white tent around the back of the stage on the field in the ‘yellow zone’. There were four tables in total for us to work on in a very cramped space but we still managed to set up and use what space we had efficiently and kept it as organised as possible.
Overall, there were 14 models for us to work on, and 8 of us makeup artists overall. We had a system ready on how we will get through everyone as quickly as possible; we would have everyone working on a model at all times until we were finished. However, the first year makeup artists were only comfortable applying the base makeup. This helped to speed up the process as once they had applied the makeup, they passed the models over to us to complete the eye makeup.
I ended up doing 3 models in total, the first two models had a full face of makeup, whereas the third model only wanted her eyeliner done.
The images below show this:
We had completed all of the makeup for around 1:30pm and stayed for the entirety of the fashion show, which went on from 2:30 to 3. The lighting was sunny whilst the show was in motion, and I had noticed that the makeup showed up well in these conditions, even from a distance.
Festival Of Thrift day 2:
26/09/2021
The second day of the festival was very similar to the first day as we had all arrived at the fashion tent by 11am and got set up on the tables. There were still the same amount of makeup artists on the second day too (8 in total) however, only one of them was first year. Therefore we had to work much more quickly and efficiently as there were more models to get around (17 in total) and so we didn’t have the same rota going on as the previous day.
We managed our time efficiently and once again managed to finish the makeup at around 1pm, leaving plenty of time for the models to get their hair done.
I, once again, managed to get through 3 models in total. The images below show the completed makeup:
