Section 1: rationale:

Before starting this course, I had taken an interest in makeup a few years prior which lead to me finding and applying to this course. Therefore, when it came to attending this course and taking part in all of the previous units, I believe I am continuing to develop to a high standard, acquiring more and more knowledge surrounding techniques, professionalism and people skills throughout the different sections I have studied over the two academic years as well as through taking up opportunities to work in the makeup industry itself. For example: beard laying, practising watercolour and working on in-college productions have all been key aspects to my development. However, although the skills I have been taught throughout the past 11 units have been tested repeatedly, and will continue to be tested, there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Section 2: project concept:

Our project idea, as a class, is to create a magazine based off of a Makeup Artist magazine; including different articles from said magazines, leaving us with at least one article each. Throughout this project, we will all be creating different concepts. I will be creating three separate looks designed for a Comic-Con event, each look being based around one character from three different video games. Therefore, I will be doing research into each of the characters, as well as taking inspiration from people online who have cosplayed these characters. Overall, we have 10 weeks to complete this project. To manage my times, I will be following a general plan on what I will be doing each week. In the 5th week, we will all be presenting our final ideas and designs. I plan to do this through 3 different A3 moodboards, one for each character, showing my ideas on what I will be including for each character, such as: jewellery, costumes, hair design, makeup design and any extra accessories.

Section 3: evaluation:

To reflect and evaluate my ongoing work process, I will be demonstrating my ideas and thought process through two different media: logging each weekly event in my blog and through a sketchbook. The blog work will include in-depth detail on each and every group discussion as well as the work that I will be conducting individually and any research that I have done/will do. The blog will also almost always have at least one picture on each blog to provide evidence for the work I do. Whereas my sketchbook will mainly consist of my design ideas and at least one page on the outcome of each individual research topic I have covered.
